A golden tip to always get feedback on your translations

 

 

 

At some point in our careers, feedback just disappears. We don’t know if we’re doing well, how well, and where we can improve. We ask LSPs, but they might give an “everything’s OK” answer. We’re blind and don’t know where to look. The reviewers who actually provide feedback are as rare as chicken teeth. Most of the time, they don’t earn an extra for that and, of course, are too busy to do free work. Fair enough. But I found the solution.

 

 

After finishing your translation, download an export of the translated file. After a few days, ask your PM for the finished file sent to the client or sync the file and download it yourself if working on a cloud-based CAT tool. Go to TQ Auditor, in the “Compare files” tab, upload your translated file and the finished file, and download a comparative Excel. Simple as that. With these comparatives in hand, you can see the nature of the reviewer’s changes and find out where you need to improve.
